Moving to Alaska was an artist’ dream come true. Our family moved to Sitka, Alaska in the summer of 1989 and it felt like home immediately. As an artist, textile designer and quilter there was such an abundance of beauty and nature to “draw” from. I started designing and printing t-shirts and opened Changing Tides…my first gift shop in downtown Sitka in 1994… In 1996, I moved to Skagway for the summer to manage a Needlework shop…The Cross Stitch Gallery and bought it the next year. The shop was expanded to include fabric, quilting, and gifts becoming the first comprehensive quilt shop in downtown Skagway and again becoming “Changing Tides”. In 2005, the shop relocated to historic downtown Juneau, Alaska… In 2018, the shop expanded again with the addition of hand-dyed in Alaska yarns and accessories…and in 2019, start looking for our “exclusive” hand-dyed in Juneau yarns. Come shop and ENJOY as we continue to grow, thieve and change.
